It's past that time of year again boys and girls to get out some information about the GSSS for 2012, but the PDGA has delayed the A-tier scheduling by several days, so I will post the NOW CONFIRMED 2012 GSSS Dates.

There are several changes in 2012 for the 5th and final year of the Series listed below.
1) There will be 6 PDGA Sanctioned C-Tier Events roughly 4-6 weeks apart with the first Event starting in MARCH (no FEB Valentine week / non-daylight saving time Events in 2012).
2) All six Event signup will begin on DEC 1st, 2011 and run through Jan 31st, 2012 or until 22 spots are sold whichever comes first.
3) The first Event of the Series Finale will be at North Georgia Canopy Tours on March 17th, 2012 (with a limit of 54 players in 3 somes which worked extremely well in the OCT 2011 Event)
4) The Series Finale Event will be back at Lake Russell Sept 8 & 9th, 2012. (remember you can book Cottages or Campsites already)
Lake Russell informed me already that fees are going up in 2012 from $2 per person for the Event weekend to $3 per person PER DAY ($6 total per player) which is NOT negotiable, causing the entry fee for that Event to be $5 higher.
I enjoy the location and experience too much to give up running Events there, so I must pass along some of the charges to the players as Tee sign sponsorships alone can no longer cover the State fees (which will total $432 for a full field)
5) There will be no Event at White Oak (replaced by NGCT location).
To allow even better player planning, the individual signup windows are 6-7 weeks in advance for each Event.

GSSS Event #1 - MAR 17th - 2nd Annual Zip Line Open @ NGCT - Lula, GA - Individual Event signup begins FEB 4th, 2012
GSSS Event #2 - APR 14th - Haywood Valley DGC (PRIVATE COURSE) - Rome, GA - Individual Event signup begins MAR 9th, 2012
GSSS Event #3 - MAY 12th - McCurry Park - Fayetteville, GA - Individual Event signup begins APR 6th, 2012
GSSS Event #4 – JUN 23rd - Meeks Park – Blairsville, GA - Individual Event signup begins MAY 4th, 2012
GSSS Event #5 – AUG 11th - Wills Park – Alpharetta, GA - Individual Event signup begins JUN 15th, 2012
GSSS Event #6 – SEPT 8-9th - 14th Annual Lake Russell Open – Elberton, GA - Individual Event signup begins AUG 3rd, 2012

You can also find all the GSSS merchandise including Hats, Collared Dry Fit shirts, Towels, etc. as well as discs with the GSSS logo on them by picking up your merchandise wherever you see me playing disc golf (Tournaments and Doubles).

Some of the changes that took place in the past to make your SERIES experience better continue in 2012.
The 50/50 basket raffle for each Event continues in 2012. Tickets can be purchased for $1 each, 4 for $3 or 8 for $5. There is NO LIMIT to the amount of tickets purchased. All monies collected at each Event will be split 50/50 with the winning number getting half of all the monies collected, and the other share going to the GSSS Charity for 2012 - The EDGE Program. In 2011 the winners’ share of the 50/50 kitty was worth over 70 bucks on average at each Event!
5 tickets will be drawn at each Event with prizes awarded to each of the 5 (last one drawn wins the 50/50 kitty) and each of those 5 tickets will kept for the drawing at the end of the Series for a Sportcatcher basket! There will be a 1 in 30 chance to win the basket as in the past, plus a great chance to win some extra cash or goodies at each Event.
Seeing that all GSSS CTPS are always free and not buy-in, you can take your normal 3-10 dollars usually spent on CTP buy-ins and spend it on Raffle tickets.
The money raised for EDGE during the Series will be returning to Georgia and be committed to GROWING Disc Golf in Georgia Schools and Parks.

There will be no changes to the Series Points Bonus payouts, and you will still need to only play in 3 of the first 5 Events to qualify for the payouts. There were 30+ people that took advantage and qualified in 2011.
